About the Teacher/Welcome Msg
Hello and welcome to my bio. Please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself! My name is Yoshia Rockette-Jernigan. My students and co-workers call me "Rockette". I graduated from Water Valley High School (GO BIG BLUE) in Water Valley, MS. I also attended Delta State University (GO FIGHTING OKRAS) where I obtained a BS in Communicative Disorders in 2004.
Upon graduating, I moved to Desoto County where I have been living for 16 years. I got married in March 2012. We have a 5 yr old daughter and 3 year old son. I really enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and sorority sisters. As a hobby I like to collect elephants.
I have been working for Desoto County Schools for 16 awesome years as a speech therapist. Throughout the years, I have traveled to many schools while working at Greenbrook Elementary (GO CHARGERS) as my home school. I absolutely love working here and each child holds a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child and having a great year! If you have concerns or questions at any time, please let me know. Feel free to contact me by email or phone. I also have a voice mail at 342-2330 ext. 339.
As of March 19, 2020, all Desoto County Schools will be closed through April 17, 2020!! Information about how we will proceed with speech services will be provided soon. I will make updates here as I receive information. Thank you for your patience. Stay well.
