Katelynn House

1st Grade Teacher

All About Mrs. House

I am so excited to start my 9th year of teaching here at Greenbrook Elementary! My name is Katie House and I will be your child’s 1st grade teacher this year. My goal this year is to provide a positive learning environment that promotes a love of reading.

I have lived in Desoto County all my life and graduated from Olive Branch High School. In 2012, I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Elementary Education. In May of 2012, I was married to my husband Drew and in 2015, our little baby girl Olivia was born. In May of 2019, our boy Nolan House was born!

Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love of learning and I hope that my students would also learn to love learning as much as I do. By making my classroom a safe, fun and disciplined place for my students, I hope that they will enjoy coming to my classroom and learning something new everyday. I feel that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive to be that for each of my students; an educator who loves each child that walks in her door and gives each of them not only and education, but a passion to learn.

This year will definitely be a fun year, but as in every school year, things can and will come up. I believe that a successful year starts with an open communication line between parents and teachers. Please feel free to email me through this website or call (662)342-2330 Ext. 321 if you have any concerns. Also, with any emails sent, please allow me till the end of the day to respond. First grade is a busy year and I will not have much time to look through emails until the end of the day.
