About the Teacher/Welcome Msg
Hello! My name is Debra McCommon, and I will be teaching your child in kindergarten this year. I started teaching in DeSoto County in 1994 but left in December of 1997 after my first child was born. I came back as a substitute teacher at Greenbrook in 2006 and returned to full time teaching at the middle school level in 2008. After teaching in middle school for two years, I realized I loved working with younger children. I decided to return to school and earned a degree in elementary education from Ole Miss here in Southaven. I have been teaching here at Greenbrook since August of 2013.
My husband Steve and I have been married since June of 1994 and have three children, all of which passed through Greenbrook. Grace is a graduate MSU, Jack is in in his junior year at MSU, and John is in the 12th grade at Lewisburgh High School.
