Bio

Welcome to the GES Music page.  I began teaching elementary music in August 2012.  It has been my pleasure to teach music at GES since August 2016.

I obtained my Bachelor of Music (2010) and Master of Music (2012) degrees from the University of Mississippi.  While attending Ole Miss, I was a member of many musical ensembles including the Pride of the South Marching Band (2 years clarinet and 2 years trumpet), LOU Orchestra (principal clarinetist), Clarinet Quartet, Collegians Jazz Band (alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, and trumpet), Women's Ensemble (chorus), and Wind Ensemble (clarinet).  I completed many courses in the study of music for children as well as wind band music. I am certified in the State of MS to teach K-12 Vocal Music and K-12 Instrumental Music.

My Teacher Goals:

--Through performing music, learning music, and playing music games together, it is my goal to establish a sense of community in our school and classrooms in which every child feels safe, welcomed, and cherished.

--I believe that making music together is fulfilling for the students.  Students can feel free to express themselves and learn to encourage each other as we make music.

--I will teach music to the best of my ability and continue to show every student that he/she is important to me.
